HERAT CITY (PAN): A military court on Tuesday sentenced five Afghan National Army (ANA) officials to 15 years in jail on charges of kidnapping a moneychanger in western Farah province.
Brig. Gen. Abdul Wase headed the court that handed the jail sentences to two ANA officers and three soldiers, Col. Najibullah Najibi, a spokesman for the 207th Zafar Military Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The army personnel allegedly abducted Abdul Khaliq at gunpoint, he said. The captive was released soon afterward with the help of intelligence department.
