KABUL leader was detained during a joint operation by Afghan and coalition forces in the Nadir Shah Kot district of southeastern Khost province on Sunday, the alliance said.
The militant leader was believed to be responsible for organising and conducting improvised explosive device and mortar attacks against Afghan and coalition forces, a statement from ISAF said.
Elsewhere, three insurgents were killed during an operation in the Ghaziabad district of eastern Kunar province. The security force, after identifying the militants in an isolated area, engaged them, killing three.
A Taliban facilitator — accused of procuring and distributing weapons to fighters — and two other rebels were held during an operation in Baraki Barak district of Logar province. He allegedly has a history of directing IED and small arms attacks against Afghan and coalition forces.
