KABUL, calling an inclusive intra-Afghan dialogue central to lasting peace in the conflict-devastated country.

Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, currently on a visit to Qatar, voiced stout support for the ongoing Afghan-led and Afghan-owned reconciliation campaign, the Pakistan embassy in Kabul said.

At a meeting with her Qatari counterpart Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani in Doha, Khar referred to the steps Islamabad had taken to facilitate the Afghan peace process, a statement from the embassy said.

For his part, Thani said there was a strategic convergence of views between Pakistan and Qatar on regional and international issues, including peace and stability in Afghanistan. He lauded the role Pakistan was playing in facilitating reconciliation in Afghanistan.

The Amir of Qatar also supported Pakistan’s efforts for bringing peace to Afghanistan and appreciated the role of the Pakistani community in Qatar. He assured Khar his government would consider hiring more Pakistani workers.
