5 heroin making labs torched in Nangarhar

JALALABAD (PAN): Five heroin producing laboratories were destroyed by security forces during an operation in the Sherzad district of eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Monday.

The labs were set on fire in the Markikhel area by counternarcotics police, Nangarhar police spokesman, Maj. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal told Pajhwok Afghan News. Several workers of the facilities were arrested, he said.

The helicopter-borne security peronnel set on fire the factories that turned into ashes, a nearby resident Haji Talib said.
