LASHKARGAH (PAN-fired rocket incident in Khanshin and Musa Qala districts of southern Helmand province, officials said on Tuesday.
Five people, including a woman, were travelling in a tractor-trolley in the Khanshin district when their vehicle hit a landmine, the town’s administrative chief, Shah Mahmoud Mir, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The victims, all residents of the town, were heading from one village to another when they were killed, he added.
In Musa Qala, a rocket allegedly fired by insurgents hit a home, killing two girls and wounding a third female, the governor’s house said in a statement.
The wounded woman was evacuated to a hospital and her condition is said to be critical, the statement said.
The civilian deaths come as President Hamid Karzai arrived in Lashkargah, the provincial capital.
