JALALABAD (PAN-Jalalabad highway, which has been blocked for two days in the Daronta district of eastern Nangarhar province, was reopened for traffic on Sunday evening, an official said.
After hectic efforts by Nangarhar and Laghman public work departments as well as Afghan soldiers, the busy highway — the main supply route to Kabul and other provinces — was reopened, the governor’s spokesman said.
Triggered by heavy rains, a huge rockslide blocked the road near the Daronta tunnel on Friday.
