MoI for global group to fight terror in Pakistan
Ministry spokesman Ghulam Siddique Siddiqui said Afghanistan could not combat terrorism in the region single-handedly. The international community and victims of terror should help Pakistan eliminate the scourge, he suggested.
“We want the international community to take steps for eradicating terrorism outside Afghanistan’s borders,” Siddiqui added.
Also present on the occasion was ISAF spokesman Brig. Gen. Günter Katz, who said the UN-mandated mission of foreign forces was confined to Afghanistan.
Afghan and Pakistani officials should pay more attention to security challenges in border areas, he believed, saying that they had discussed the issue at trilateral meetings.
