NATO soldier succumbs to injuries in south

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): A NATOinfo-icon soldier on Tuesday succumbed to the injuries he sustained in an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistaninfo-icon, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAFinfo-icon) said.

The death was announced in a brief statement from the NATO-led force that neither gave the soldier’s nationality nor the exact location of the blast. However, mostly British, Canadian and US troops are stationed in the south.

With the latest fatality, the number of foreign troops killed in Afghanistan so far during the current year has increased to 24. Last year, ISAF lost 402 service members in the country.
