KABUL operation in eastern Kunar province.
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) renewed its call for all parties engaged in military operations to be mindful of their obligations to protect civilians and prevent civilian casualties.
Afghan security forces and international troops should take all measures to prevent harm to civilians during military operations, including those which involved the use of aerial force, it said.
“UNAMA expresses its heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in this incident and wishes a speedy recovery for those injured,” a statement from the mission said.
