JALALABAD (PAN): Unidentified men abducted two employees of the Torkham customs department on the Torkham-Jalalabad highway in eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Wednesday.
Three employees of the department were traveling to Jalalabad on Tuesday evening when the unidentified gunmen abducted two of them from the Marko area of the Ghanikhel district for ransom, the head of Torkham customs department, Mohammad Nisar, said.
The third employee, Waheed, managed to flee from the kidnappers, he said.
After fleeing from the abductors, he sought refuge in Momandara district headquarters and asked for the assistance, but district police did not help him regarding the release of his two colleagues, he said.
