HERAT CITY (PAN): Police on Sunday rescued an Iranian businessman from his captors and detained two alleged kidnappers in western Herat province.
Milad, a trader from the Iranian capital of Tehran, had gone missing in the Kohsan district of the province 10 days ago, the provincial police chief said.
Brig. Gen. Rahmatullah Sapi told Pajhwok Afghan News the Iranian businessman had been freed as a result of a rescue operation in Islam Qala area.
Resident Haji Mir Dad said the captors were Milad’s business partners, who had allegedly demanded 300 million Iranian riyals in ransom.
