KABUL in eastern Nangarhar province.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs official Azizuddin Ahmadzada summoned Pakistani Charge d’Affaires in Kabul Shah Nazar Afridi in the morning, soon after Pakistani border guards clashed with Afghan police in Goshta district.
“Ahmadzada lodged the Afghan government’s strong protest with Afridi about the unprovoked attack by Pakistani forces who used both heavy and light weapons against Afghan forces,” a statement from the ministry said.
Although the Pakistani attack, which occurred at 8:20am, did not result in any casualties, it may further damage relations between the neighbours.
