Bannu suicide attack leaves 3 dead, 27 injured
ISLAMABAD (PAN): As pre-poll violence in the country continues, three people were killed and 27 others injured in a suicide attack on a police station in northwestern Pakistan on Wednesday, officials said.
The bomber crashed his explosives-laden vehicle into a police station on the outskirts of Bannu district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, bordering eastern Afghanistan.
Hospital sources in the area said two women and a policeman were killed and 27 people, including 10 women and children, nine policemen and eight civilians, wounded in the assault.
As a result of the powerful explosion, the Domail police station and two nearby houses were razed, he said. Another 10 houses around the police facility were damaged and several inmates wounded, District Police Officer (DPO) Ghafoor Afridi told reporters
