MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): Four people were killed and eight vehicles torched during two separate incidents in northern Balkh province, an official said on Saturday.
Three employees of a road construction company were killed and as several others injured when security check-posts of the company came under attack from unidentified gunmen in Dawlatabad district on Friday night.
Balkh police chief, Brig. Gen. Salim Ihsas, told Pajhwok Afghan News eight vehicles of the Sakhizada Company — asphalting a 27-kilometre road in Khairabad area of the town — were set on fire. A Pakistani engineer was among the dead.
District development council head and tribal elder, Mohammad Karim, said the incident took place in Qara Qozhla area.
Elsewhere in the province, one Afghan Local Police (ALP) official was killed and another injured in a roadside bombing in the Alizai village of Chamtal district late on Friday night.
