Paktika tribal elder gunned down
SHARANA (PAN): Insurgents stormed the house of a tribal elder and shot him dead in southeastern Paktika province, the governor's office said on Sunday.
Haji Nazir was killed when the Taliban attacked his house on Saturday night in Mazko village of Sra Rawza district, the governor's house said in a statement.
The 60-year-old had no connection with the government, and he was an intellectual who had been loyal to his country throughout his life, the statement added.
Taliban have so far said nothing about the killing.
