KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Ten civilians were killed in a roadside bombing in southern Kandahar province on Monday, an official said.
A dozen others were wounded when the vehicle they were travelling in struck the roadside bomb in Arghistan district around noon.
Abdul Ghani Muslimyar, the district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News several children and women were among the casualties.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast that occurred in Wam area between Arghistan and Maroof districts.
President Hamid Karzai, meanwhile, denounced the bombing, calling the the killings of women and children a cowardly and inhuman act that could not be pardoned under any circumstances.
