WASHINGTON (PAN fighter, will now face court martial, the Pentagon has said.
Captain James V Clement will be tried at a special court-martial for his alleged misconduct during a counter-insurgency operation in the Musa Qala district of Helmand province in late July 2011, the US Marine Corps said.
“Clement will be tried for dereliction of duty and conduct unbecoming of an officer and a gentleman for failing to stop the misconduct of junior Marines,” the statement said. The date of the court-martial has not been determined and will be announced later.
The charges against Clement were referred to a special court-martial on May 10, 2013 by Lt. Gen. Richard Mills, Commanding General of Marine Corps Combat Development Command, who led the forces in southern Afghanistan in 2010.
