Nabi’s father kidnapped in Nangarhar

JALALABAD (PAN cricket team captain, was kidnapped at gun point on Tuesday in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said.

Isakhel’s father was on his way home when armed men seized him at around 10am in Saracha area of Behsud district, the district chief, Naimatullah Noorzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News. Police have launched a search operation to arrest the abductors, he said.

Local resident Mohammad Farooq said the kidnappers also beat Isakhel’s father and drove him away before residents reached the scene.

A cricket board official in eastern zone, Qarar Azizi, condemned the incident and asked security organs to take urgent steps in this regard.

Police spokesman Maj. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal confirmed the abduction, saying police had launched efforts to secure the release of Isakhel’s father and arrest his kidnappers.
