KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): The Ministry of Information and Culture on Saturday agreed to give two members of journalist support groups the membership of High Media Council and include seven in the Mass Media Commission.

At a meeting in Kabul, representatives of journalist support organisations asked Information Minister Syed Makhdoom Rahin to give them membership of the two bodies in accordance with the Article 41 of the Mass Media Law.

A statement from the Afghanistaninfo-icon National Journalists’ Union (ANJU) said NAI chief Siddiqullah Tawhidi, Tolo TV Editor-in-Chief Siddique Ahmadzada, Mir Haider Mutahir of the union, Pajhwok Afghan News Director Danish Karokhel and others participated in the meeting.

Rahin accepted their demand for including two representatives of journalists in the High Media Council and seven others in the commission. He said the nominees should be introduced to the ministry in one week’s time, the statement added.
