LASHKARGAH (PAN): A police helpline (119) was activated to prevent crime in the southern province of Helmand, an official said on Sunday.
Disruptive activities would fall with activation of the helpline, the deputy police chief, Col. Ghulam Rabbani Bahawi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The service, previously available for Kabul residents, had been extended to Helmand to enable people to contact police in case of criminal activity, said the director of the service at the Ministry of Interior, Humayun Aini.
At a time eight people could call the number, he said, promising that the caller’s identity would be kept secret.
