JALALABAD (PAN): Dozens of shots were gutted and a man wounded on Friday as a result of a blaze and an explosion in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province.

The fire broke out at a location between the Mia Aslam Market and the Department of Information and Culture at 12 noon, an official said.

Deputy Governor Mohammad Hanif Gardiwal told Pajhwok Afghan News the blaze was triggered by a gas cylinder inside a shot in the area.

Within minutes, the fire spread to dozens of gas and vegetable shops, injuring at least one person, he said. The injured is under medical treatment at the Jalalabad Civil Hospital.
