PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): Eight teachers, four students and as many local policemen were injured in a car suicide bombing in central Logar province on Tuesday, officials said.
The suicide attack took place at a time when students and teachers of Shaheed Farooq High School were going home, the education department spokesman, Shahpoor Arab, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said two of the eight wounded teachers and two students were in critical condition.
The incident occurred at 2pm when a suicide bomber crashed his explosives-laden car into a wall of the Afghan Local Police (ALP) headquarters, injuring the commander, Sabz Ali, and three of his subordinates, security official said on condition of anonymity.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed responsibility for the attack, saying two local police commanders were among 27 policemen killed in the bombing.
