Dunford denounces Kandahar blast
KABUL (PAN): The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) on Wednesday strongly condemned as senseless the killing of nine women and children in a roadside bombing in southern Kandahar province.
"The enemies of Afghanistan continue to demonstrate their complete disregard for human life and peace by deliberately placing IEDs along well-traveled roads or populated areas, indiscriminately targeting innocent Afghan men, women and children,” said the ISAF commander.
Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, while denouncing Tuesday’s incident in Khakrez district, said: "Our condolences go out to the loved ones affected by senseless violence."
Despite acts of violence, there was a path to peace and stability in the country, the top US general said, adding their support for the Afghans remained resolute and unwavering as they moved toward a better future.
