KABUL): An exhibition showcasing agricultural products was held in Kabul on Sunday to marketing and increasing growers’ capacity, an official sad.
Seventeen companies displayed 80 types of agricultural products to lure Afghan and foreign traders and processors, said the director of private sector development at the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock.
Abdul Qayum Basam told Pajhwok Afghan News the ministry had organised the show with financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
He said one key objective behind arranging the exhibition was to find a market for agricultural products and increase their exports. The products needed to be processed, he said, urging Afghans to use locally-produced items.
Afghanistan Investment Support Agency head, Wafiullah Iftikhar, asked the government to resolve the problems of traders to encourage foreign investment in the country.
