PHC renews commitment to peace

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): The High Peace Councilinfo-icon (HPC) on Tuesday said the Afghans wanted the militants to enter constructive peace parleys with the government.

In a message, the council congratulated all Muslims -- especially Afghans -- on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadaninfo-icon, calling for peace and stability in the country.

HPC Chairman Salahuddin Rabbani asked elders and officials to encourage national unity and brotherhood.

The council remained committed to lasting peace, a goal that needed solid national unity and cooperation, the statement added.

“The council is committed to continuing intra-Afghans talks and take on board all compatriots on key issues facing the country,” Rabbani said.
