KABUL” in the volatile Arab country, BBC reported, saying the facility was set up with the assistance of ex-Afghan fighters of Middle Eastern origin.

The Pakistani Taliban had sent a dozen experts in guerrilla warfare and information technology to Syria in the last two months, a senior insurgent leader was quoted as saying. The Taliban presence in the country could have a sectarian motive.

Sunni Muslims, who constitute a majority in Syria, are being oppressed by predominantly Shiite rulers, according to the Taliban. Mohammad Amin, a Taliban operative coordinator of the Syrian base, said the cell was set up six months ago.
