KANDAHAR CITY (PAN insurgents have been killed during separate incidents of violence in southern Kandahar province, an official said on Tuesday.
Two militants were killed on Monday evening during a NATO airstrike in the Panjwai district, where a landmine blast killed a third rebel, the governor’s spokesman said.
Javed Faisal added another four militants were killed during a clash with a joint Afghan and ISAF force on the border between Kandahar and Zabul provinces.
The clash took place in the WotakaI area. The joint forces also seized three AK-47s and a walkie-talkie from the clash site.
In neighbouring Zabul, security forces seized an explosives-laden vehicle and recovered 30 Kalashnikovs from it, the Ministry of Interior said on Tuesday.
