IEC says 2nd phase of voter registration soon

KABUL) said on Wednesday the second phase of the voter registration process would be launched soon.

As part of preparations for the 2014 presidential and provincial council polls, the process would be initiated at the district level soon, the panel said.

The first phase at the provincial capital level was launched on May 26. The IEC has planned programmes to inform people about voter registration and other preparatory measures.

“One of the programmes is activating the electoral call centre with the contact number 190,” a statement from IEC said. The toll-free line will remain active from 7am to 8pm to let voters provide the panel correct information on the electoral processes.
