Spanta’s brother gunned down in Herat

HERAT CITY (PAN): National Security Advisor Dr. Rangin Dadfar Spanta’s brother was gunned down in western Herat province on Wednesday morning, an official said.

Also a district attorney, Mohammad Wali, came under attack from an unidentified gunman in the Karkh bazaar, a police spokesman said.

Col. Abdul Rauf Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News law-enforcement agencies were looking for the assailant. No one has been detained in connection with the murder, however.

Meanwhile, Prosecutor Gul Ahmad Ramesh confirmed the murder. He said Wali, who served as district attorney for a decade, was shot with a pistol.
