SHARAN (PAN): Three people were killed and four others sustained injuries during a clash over the ownership of a land in Argon district of southern Paktika province, police said.

An officer in the district crime branch police, Zalmai told Pajhwok Afghan News the brawl occurred in the afternoon on Sunday between Maulvi Ghazi and Mirza Saleh men in Qarakhel hamlet of the district.  

Soon after the bloody incident, Zalmai said police rushed to the scene and arrested members of the warring parties. He said his force took control of the area in an apparent attempt to avoid further bloodshed.

Zalmai said he had reports of a similar dispute in Sarakht village but having no further details.

But a resident of Sarakht village said two people were killed and two others wounded in the incident.

A doctor at Argon district hospital said that four injured from both the parties are being treated at his hospital, saying that one of the patients is struggling for life.
