JALALABAD (PAN): Moneychangers in Jalalabad on Monday protested over the worsening security situation in eastern Nangarhar province.
A moneychanger was shot dead by unidentified gunmen inside his shop in Jalalabad on Sunday evening. The attackers managed to flee, prompting the protest.
Their lives were insecure in Jalalabad, where assailants made good their escape after gunning down their colleague, deputy head of Moneychangers’ Union, Haji Ghaljai, told Pajhwok Afghan News
A moneychanger, Khan Wali, said their family members were abducted from shops and released on payment of ransom
If the government did not take any step to arrest insecurity, they would be left with no option but to close their shops, he warned.
