IEC concerned at possible meddling in poll process
KABUL (PAN): Independent Election Commission (IEC) officials on Tuesday briefed President Hamid Karzai on the preparations being made in connection with next year’s presidential and provincial council elections.
A statement issued from the Presidential Palace said election officials expressed their concerns about possible interference from foreigners in the commission’s affairs.
IEC Secretary Ziaul Haq Amarkhel told the president that materials required for voter registration had been dispatched to 325 of the country’s 364 districts.
