KABUL’s southwestern city of Quetta has gone missing from the Satellite Town area of Balochistan’s capital, police said on Sunday.
Muhammad Hashim, working in the passport section of the consulate, disappeared on July 25, a leading Pakistani newspaper quoted a local police officer, Sardar Shah, as saying.
Siddiqullah, Hashim’s son, has lodged the first information report (FIR) with the Satellite Town police station. He told police: “We have no information about the whereabouts of my father since July 25.”
Afghan Consul General Ghulam Muhammad Bahadur also confirmed the consulate had lost contact with Hashim. They were in touch with the government of Balochistan for the official’s recovery, he said.
