11 dead, 4 injured in Darra, Pishin attacks

ISLAMABAD (PAN‘s northwestern tribal region of Darra Adamkhel late on Tuesday night, officials said on Wednesday.

The firefight was sparked when 60 militants stormed the Sur Gar Range check-post in the area, a bustling arms bazaar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a security official told Pajhwok Afghan News.

“The personnel guarding the post beat back the assailants following an intense exchange of fire,” the source said, adding eight of the attackers were killed. Two soldiers were also killed in the two-hour clash.

While verifying the incident, the military said four soldiers were injured. The Inter-Services Public Relations said the situation was under control.
