KABUL, later this year, the cricket board spokesman said on Friday.

Farid Hotak said in a statement that based on a memorandum of understanding (MoU), the limited-over game would be played on in the United Arab Emirates on December 8.

Pakistan would technically support Afghan players and arrange trial camps for them under the MoU that was signed this year. The two sides agreed to sign the deal after talks in Lahore.

Afghanistan Cricket Board Chief Executive Dr. Noor Mohammad Murad said: “The board tried many cricketing techniques and innovations in 2013 and the process, aimed to develop the sport, continues.”

Afghans were eagerly awaiting the T-20 clash that would give the national squad a whole new experience, he said, promising no effort at popularising the game would be spared.
