Would-be suicide bomber shot dead in Uruzgan
TARINKORT (PAN): A suicide bomber was shot dead on Sunday before he could reach his target in Tirinkot, the capital of central Uruzgan province, an official said.
The bomber in a police uniform planned to target Kabul Bank’s branch in the city where tens of policemen had come to collect their salaries, the governor’s spokesman said.
Abdullah Himmat told Pajhwok Afghan News police identified the suicide bomber and shot him dead him before he approach the bank.
Ismatullah, the policeman who identified the would-be assailant, said that he asked the suspect to stop, but he refused. As the policeman caught the attacker, his colleague shot him to death.
