10 rebels killed in Laghman offensive
JALALABAD (PAN): Three notorious commanders were among 10 insurgents killed during a police operation in eastern Laghman province, an official said on Wednesday.
The operation by Special Police Force was conducted on Wednesday morning in the Gulnabi and Salingar areas of Alingar district, the governor’s spokesman said.
Sarhadi Zwak said the operation resulted in the killing of three prominent Taliban commanders and seven others.
Another three insurgents were injured and as many captured alive, he said, identifying the slain commanders as Musafar, Haleem and Mahir. The injured rebels were taken to a hospital in critical condition, the official said.
