KABUL: The Eidul Fitr festival will be celebrated on Thursday, as the new Shawwal crescent was not witnessed on Tuesday, the Saudi Supreme Court announced late on Tuesday.
Averting confusion over the Eid date, the court said in a statement Wednesday would be the 29th day of the holy month of Ramadan
“Those who witness the moon should inform the nearest court. If the moon was not sighted on Tuesday, they should look for it on Wednesday evening,” the court said. Ramadan ended with 28 days 30 years back in 1984.
