Iran was fomenting insecurity in the border areas in a bid to impede the Salma Dam in Herat and Kamal Khan dam in Farah, civil society representative Ghulam Hassan Majrooh told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Head of Commission of Political Parties Abdul Qahar Kamil said Iran’s intrusion in the provinces was facilitated by its consulate in Herat, where some Afghan lawmakers and officials enforce Tehran’s decisions.
There were many Iranian agents who travelled to the neighbouring country on secret visas, but the government did not prevent them, he alleged.
