KABULT (PAN on Tuesday, an official said.
With a 9-month timescale, the World Bank-funded project would help connect the 1st Macro Ryan locality with Zaman Khan area, Kabul Mayor Mohammad Nawandesh told the inauguration ceremony.
He said so far 200 square meters of footpaths had been constructed and more such projects would be launched to facilitate Kabul residents.
The mayor sought public support in fighting corruption at his department and confirmed receiving many complaints in this regard. He said the department was trying to focus on less-developed areas to ensure uniformed development.
The seven-metre wide road is being asphalted in response to residents’ complaints. Resident Rahmatullah said the road had not been asphalted over the past three decades and as a result, commuters faced problems.
