KABUL valued its relations with Russia and wanted to further improve cooperation between the two countries in diverse fields, President Hamid Karzai said on Monday.
During a meeting with a delegation of traders and investors from Russia at his office, the president said Kabul was ready to further enhance trade and economic relations with Moscow.
A statement from the Presidential Palace said the Russian deputy energy minister, who leads Russia trade and economic cooperation commission, spoke on behalf of the delegation.
At the meeting, Karzai called for Russian airlines to resume their operations in Afghanistan.
The delegation extended Russian president and prime minister’s best wishes to Karzai. The delegates said they were keen on assisting Afghanistan in diverse fields.
The 53-member delegation, representing major private and government companies, have entered talks with Afghan counterparts on how to boost economic cooperation.
