Bomb kills civilian, injures 3 ANA troops in Logar
PUL-I-ALM (PAN): Three Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were injured and a civilian killed as a result of a bomb explosion that rocked the capital of central Logar province on Thursday, an official said.
The blast took place in front of a Kabul Bank branch in Pul-i-Alam around 3pm. The explosive had been planted in a water channel and was detonated when an ANA vehicle arrived at the scene, crime branch chief Col. Mohammad Jan Abid told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Three ANA troops on the vehicle were injured and a nearby roadside vender was killed, he said, adding a second vender suffered injuries in the blast that destroyed the ANA vehicle. One of the injured troops is said to be in critical condition.
Resident Abdul Hameed said many people could have died in the blast if it had been rush-hour at the bank.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the detonation.
