KABUL (SCA) said on Monday it had executed 27 projects in Hazrat Sultan and Feroz Nakhcheer districts of northern Samangan province.
SCA spent around 20 million afs ($360,000) on implementing Samangan projects through the Rural Development Programme in predominantly poor villages and were handed over to local authorities upon completion.
About 17,000 villagers would benefit from transportation, potable water and other vital facilities in Feroz Nakhcheer and Hazrat Sultan, a statement from SCA said.
Meanwhile, an agreement on new projects in the Chaharbolak district of Balkh province was signed between the SCA Rural Development Programme and the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in an official ceremony.
Under the agreement, 24 Community Development Councils (CDC) will be funded at a cost of more than 22 million afs, with 10 percent local community contribution. Each CDC will have female capacity-building projects that will cost 200 000 afs.
