KABUL): Four Iranian nationals have been convicted on drug smuggling charges and sentenced to 18 years each in jail, the Criminal Justice Task Force (CJTF) said on Monday.
CJTF spokesman Ahmad Khalid Mowahid told Pajhwok Afghan News police had arrested the quartet while smuggling 1,160 kilograms of narcotics in a car to their country from western Farah province.
About 230 individuals have so far been arrested this year in connection with drug trafficking.
