1.5m people receive voter cards
The commission focussed mostly on women and dwellers of remote areas with little access to registration centres, the IEC the spokesman said.
Noor Mohammad Noor told Pajhwok Afghan News the process would continue over the next 45 days.
He added: “Through mobile teams, we will visit their houses and provide them all possible facilities to get voter cards.” Up to 30 percent of women had received voter cards across the country, he concluded.
