4 injured as rebels fire at wedding guests
PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): A rebel was killed and four civilians were wounded in a militant attack on a wedding party on the outskirts of Pul-i-Alam, the capital of central Logar province, an official said on Saturday.
The incident took place on Friday evening when the insurgents attempted to kidnap an Afghan National Army (ANA) official who was attending the marriage party in the 2nd police district in Pul-i-Alam, the governor’s spokesman said.
Din Mohammad Darwesh told Pajhwok Afghan News that the ANA official opened fire on the rebels, killing one and injuring another.
Minutes after the incident, a group of insurgents came to the area, firing on the party. As a result, four wedding guests, including a woman and child, were wounded, he said.
According to resident Abdul Mujib, the house is located only a kilometer from the provincial police headquarter, but the guerrillas opened fire on people before leaving.
