Woman beheaded; kidnapped worker killed
The woman was killed by her spouse, who recently returned from Iran, the provincial police chief said, adding the motive remained unclear.
Brig. Gen. Nabi Jan Mullahkhel, speaking to Pajhwok Afghan News, believed the incident was the result of domestic violence. An investigation into the death is ongoing.
Crime Branch head Col. Zalmai Jasoor said the woman had been beheaded with a knife that was recovered from a bathroom in the house. No one has been detained so far in connection with the killing.
Dr. Samir Inayat, in charge of the forensic branch of the Faryab Public Health Department, said the woman was strangulated before being decapitated. The 28 years old was killed on Thursday, according to the doctor.
Gen. Mullahkhel said a road-building company engineer was killed in Almar district by the insurgents a week after being kidnapped. He visa killed after his family refused to pay ransom.
