KABUL) have strongly condemned the killing of innocent civilians in a roadside bombing in southern Ghazni province.
Eighteen people, including 14 women, were killed on Sunday when a vehicle carrying wedding guests struck a roadside bomb in the Andar district. Five others were wounded in the explosion.
In a statement, ISAF expressed its condolences to the families of those killed and wounded in the attack against the people. “We will continue to stand by the people of Afghanistan in this fight against extremists whose senseless acts endanger innocent women and children.”
President Karzai denounced the perpetrators as the enemies of Afghans, saying there was no justification for attacking innocent Muslim men, women and children. Such cowardly attacks would not deter Afghanistan’s march to development, he added.
In a telephone call, the president directed the Ghazni governor to extend all possible assistance to the victims’ families. He also expressed his heartfelt condolence to the bereaved families.
Paktika Governor Mohibullah Samim and his Uruzgan counterpart Amir Mohammad Akhundzada also flayed the incident in Sahib Khan village as an inhuman act that brought mourning to the wedding ceremony.
