He held out the assurance at a meeting with British Foreign Secretary William Hague in London on Wednesday, calling for an effective border management system between the neighbours to deal with terrorist infiltration.
According to the Associated Press of Pakistan, British Home Secretary Theresa May also called on the prime minister and discussed matters relating to cooperation on security and the fight against terrorism.
Sharif informed Theresa May of recent legislation and other steps taken by his administration to eliminate the scourge. The Protection of Pakistan Ordinance was recently promulgated to curb extremism.
Reiterating his government’s determination to root out extremism and terrorism, the prime minister said Pakistan did not want its soil or that of Afghanistan to be used by militants.
