ISLAMABAD (PAN has been detained at the Torkham border, a Pakistani newspaper reported on Friday.

Abdul Malik, 42, was detained during a raid on a general store in the Torkham bazaar by the paramilitary force called Khasadar, The News International said.

The daily quoted a political administration official as saying Malik was involved in several cases of kidnapping for ransom and wanted by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police.

According to the report, the detainee kidnapped rich people from Peshawar and elsewhere for ransom. He was shifted to the Landikotal lock-up for investigations.
